On Sunday 25th August, Maui is proud to present another celebration of Americana Music with some of the best Bluegrass, Country, American Folk and Blues artists and bands, from the US, Canada and the UK.
Mostly on the Jeremiah Marques Stage but also on other stages including the main stage.
JS & The Lockerbillies (Jeremiah Marques)
Now in their 10th year playing high octane rockabilly, Josh Locke and his Lockerbillies are revved up and ready to rock Maui with their usual energetic stage show filled with cult classics and original rock n roll.
The Vagaband (Jeremiah Marques)
Over the past decade, The Vagaband have taken their brand of roots rock across UK & Europe, becoming regulars on the festival scene (Glastonbury, SGP, Wilderness, Bestival, Red Rooster & Maverick).
Their soulful, inventive approach incorporates elements of Americana, folk, prog, psych rock and country funk. They have collaborated with US cult band Ween on a remix, recorded award-winning film and T.V. soundtracks and picked up a music award in 2018, for their third album.
Delta Jacks (Jeremiah Marques)
"Looking like they've fallen out of Sun Studios circa 1955, The Delta Jacks summon the raw, skeletal rockabilly of the Million Dollar Quartet in fine style." Vive Le Rock magazine
"Trouble Ahead is one of the most sing-a-long albums of the year. It's music for having a high old time to, country music for swilling down home brewed gin from a copper bottomed still. It’s the music of a different time, without being dated; in fact it’s needed more than ever, an antidote – 9/10." Americana UK website
Amanda Anne Platt (Jeremiah Marques)
Americana artist, Amanda Anne Platt has been writing and performing her original songs in front of live audiences for almost two decades. With her band The Honeycutters she has released nine albums of her own original material and toured extensively in the US as well as Europe and Canada.
Tim Lee Canada/UK) A van-life, world-traveling, Blues nomad!
(Jeremiah Marques)
Tim Lee has been playing Blues for a very long time, bringing his songs and stories about lives well-lived to audiences far and wide for more than thirty years. His one-man show brings a sound that is fresh yet familiar, with an intoxicating and well-worn vintage vibe.
Dove and Boweevil (Jeremiah Marques)
Dove & Boweevil are Americana-Soul artists based in Norfolk. Known for their memorable melodies, soaring vocals from Lauren Dove and raw, gritty guitar from Mark 'Boweevil' Howes. These guys suit true music fans with their eclectic spectrum of styles from gritty blues to sweet soul and harmonic Americana-influenced.
Hannah Kaminer
(Jeremiah Marques Stage)
Hannah Kaminer is an Asheville, North Carolina-based artist who is known for her poignant songwriting, clear voice, and often comedic stage presence. Raised in small towns in Western North Carolina, Kaminer writes songs about love, loss, and home, fusing echoes of Appalachian and country traditions with wistful, Americana-style songwriting.
Noel Dashwood (Jeremiah Marques)
Noel Dashwood shows with his singing and masterful dobro playing just why he is a giant of the burgeoning East Anglian and Norwich music scene.
He sings good, angelic sometimes, and plays his dobro like a demon. Dashwood has Polynesian roots and he celebrates them with a tip of the hat to Hawaiian music, the heartland of much Western popular music and for sure the roots of the dobro and steel guitar. Hank Wangford
In 2022 she released a double album, The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, which has been called “her finest work yet” by The Bluegrass Situation and landed on top ten lists across the globe.
The much anticipated follow up LP, The Ones That Stay, which was co produced by Scott McMicken (Dr Dog) and Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound), is slated for release later this year.
She began studying and performing music in her mid-twenties and has released three studio albums: Acre by Acre (2015), Heavy Magnolias (2018) which was co-produced with GRAMMY-winning engineer Julian Dreyer, and Heavy on the Vine (2024) which she produced with her band, The Wistfuls. Heavy on the Vine was released in January 2024, and has garnered play and a Studio B session at WNCW as well as reviews and mentions by the New York Times, Americana-UK, The Bluegrass Situation, and AltCountry.NL.
